Baos are a typical Taiwanese street food that are steamed and which we find irresistible. They can be filled with whatever you like, although pulled pork is the most common filling. The meat is cooked at a low temperature for almost 8 hours, then a sauce made with soy, rice vinegar, ginger, and lots of spices is added... it becomes very tender and is shredded to fill the Bao bun. We also add BBQ sauce.
They are to die for, especially if you heat them up for 15 seconds in the microwave before eating them.
Ingredients: Bao, Pulled Pork (onion, garlic, cumin, mustard, white vinegar, sweet paprika, hot paprika, crushed tomatoes, ketchup, Perrins sauce, sugar), barbecue sauce, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, olive oil, and salt.
